Job summary

WWL is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our ward-based pharmacy team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will work across wards delivering medicines optimisation and supporting pharmacists, with a focus on safety and patient education.

You will be responsible for dispensing, accuracy checking, medicines reconciliation and discharge planning, while developing your professional skills within an active multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
• GPhC registration as Pharmacy Technician is required.
• Hospital/wards experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support ward-based pharmaceutical interventions with pharmacists and technicians.
• Dispense and accuracy-check prescriptions and associated orders.
• Counsel patients during stay and at discharge on their medications.
• Contribute to medicines optimisation and discharge planning.
• Assist in medicines reconciliation and safety checks.
