Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust invites applications for a Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant (MMPA) on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The post supports ward-based medicines management to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

You will assist Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists, counsel patients, top up wards with stock, and participate in dispensing for in-patients. Training is provided, with a focus on learning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services
• Experience in hospital/pharmaceutical environment
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients and assemble medicines at ward level.
• Top up wards with stock and manage returns/waste per procedure.
• Dispense prescriptions for in-patients and support medication management.
• Supervise less experienced staff as required.
• Participate in the in-house continuing education programme.
