Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust in Carshalton is seeking a dedicated Medicines Management Assistant (MMA) to support ward-based clinical pharmacy services.

The role is Band 3, full time 37.5 hours per week with seven day, late duty and Bank Holiday rotas; NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services required, plus experience with hospital pharmacy systems and stock control. Salary £30,630–£32,346 pro-rata incl HCAS (outer).

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
• Knowledge of stock rotation and expiry dates.
• Experience with hospital pharmacy distribution/dispensing systems.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the transfer of patient’s own and dispensed medications between wards.
• Stock items to be put away and rotated to minimise wastage.
• Identify slow moving stock and transfer to alternative locations to minimise wastage.
• Deliver medicines to patients' current location to reduce re-dispensing.
• Check and clear medicine trollies at least weekly.
• Reduce expired medicines and unlabelled liquids.
• Assist in ensuring fridge and clinical room temperatures are recorded daily.
