Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 nurse practitioner post in Garston UTC. The service sees, assesses and treats patients with minor illness and injuries. The service is open 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week.


Responsibilities


  • Work within the Urgent Care / Walk-in Centre team as an autonomous practitioner and be accountable for the health care management of patients attending the service.

  • Assess, diagnose and treat minor illness and/or determine the most appropriate pathway for the patient.

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based care to all patients attending the service.

  • Perform holistic assessment, interpret results, provide treatment, advice and health promotion, resulting in discharge or referral as appropriate.

  • Receive patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions in an unpredictable environment and deliver care accordingly.

  • Develop knowledge of a wide range of minor illnesses by achieving competencies in all areas of the service and work to effectively assess, treat, discharge and refer appropriately to health and social care professionals.

  • Manage service provision in the absence of the senior nurse practitioner.

  • Commit to Personal Performance Planning and Clinical Supervision.

  • Work flexibly to ensure capacity meets service demand.

  • Be prepared to work across all Mersey Care UTCs/WICs.

Eligibility / Development

Dependent on experience, successful candidates may be offered the full Band 6 Nurse Practitioner position. Alternatively, a candidate who demonstrates potential but requires additional training or experience may be offered a band 5-6 development post. Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
