Overview

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Waking Night Support Worker. All applicants must be able to work 9pm-9am three nights per week. Apple Tree House is a residential, Ofsted Registered ‘Good’ children’s service situated on the outskirts of Weymouth, Dorset. Here we support 4 children aged 8 to 18. Apple Tree House has been carefully adapted to provide specialist accommodation for children and young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges. Closing date: 14/09/2025.

What you’ll be doing

• This will be Weekend working only. You will be required to work days, evenings and the occasional sleep in.
• Our young people have a mix of interests and different levels of independence; you will be supporting with daily tasks to increase their confidence levels and everyday skills.
• You will support the children to have fun and engage in learning.
• You will be cooking, cleaning and supporting with everyday tasks, depending on the child’s ability.
• We make the most of being close to the seaside and local amenities. We enjoy days out together, shopping, visiting the cinema and take part in and encourage the children’s interests.

What you’ll get

• £12.31 per hour, increasing to £12.50 per hour after a successful probation period. £13.10 per hour once you progress to stage 2.
• 36 hours per week across 3 nights, 9pm-9am
