Job summary

Glassmoon Services is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker for our Newton Abbot service. You will support a person with learning disabilities and complex needs to engage in activities, maintain skills and live a valued life, including personal planning and safeguarding responsibilities.

Driver preferred and right to work in the UK are required; references, DBS checks and ID/address verification are also expected. A supportive, inclusive team environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care and adhere to policies to support individuals.
• Enable each person to engage in interests and maintain skills.
• Support relationships with family and community.
• Complete and maintain Support Plans and information to support individuals.
• Report changes to Team Leader/Senior Support Worker to safeguard wellbeing.
• Promote safeguarding and safety of those in care.
• Foster independence and personalised activities.

Are you experienced in working with individuals who have a Learning Disability and Complex needs? We are searching for a team of highly skilled and passionate individuals to assist someone in embarking on a new chapter in their life. This role is both demanding and incredibly fulfilling, as you will play a crucial part in helping this person strive for their best life. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting them in participating in all the activities they find enjoyable, while fostering their independence to the fullest extent.

Possessing a valid driver's license will be advantageous.

• You will have a voice in notifying the Team Leader/Senior Support Worker of any changes you observe in the needs of the individuals we support, contributing to their continued well-being
• Safeguarding the welfare of those in our care is paramount, and you will actively promote and maintain their safety
• Help the people we support to maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other people important in their life
