Job summary

Priory Group Wake Night Support Worker position in Folkestone is a full-time role at Laburnum House, providing care to adults with a range of needs. The shift runs 8pm–8am, 36 hours per week, with on-site responsibilities in a residential service.

You will work as part of a compassionate team, supporting residents' wellbeing, following individual care plans, and maintaining accurate records. A caring approach, flexibility, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or higher recognised qualification.
  • GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths.
  • Ability to work flexibly and follow care plans and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care and daily living tasks.
  • Support participation in activities and rehabilitation plans.
  • Update care plans, charts and daily notes accurately.
  • Maintain safety, confidentiality and professional relationships.

Full Time 36 Hours- Shift times 8pm - 8am

Laburnum House has an opportunity for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team.

Laburnum House, Folkestone, Kent is a residential service supporting 6 adults with a range of needs. It is located in a town setting and is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Folkestone Central railway station nearby. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents

  • Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
  • Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.

  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths. N.B. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have NVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify.
  • Communication and personal interaction is a key feature of this role and may include the provision of support to people who use challenging behaviour as a way to communicate their needs and frustrations or who use alternative communication methods such as pictures and signing systems. This role also requires participation in and promotion of a team approach at all times, with positive and constructive working relationships for the benefit of the service user. To contribute both verbally and in writing to service user reviews and support planning.
