Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting for a Front of House Steward at Colchester MOD, Merville Barracks, Circular Road South. You will support military personnel on a Ministry of Defence base, helping provide a positive dining experience.

Full on-the-job training, career development, and wellbeing support are offered. The role is based on shift patterns including weekends with a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining areas, functions, and meeting spaces before service.
• Serve meals and replenish stations; maintain cleanliness during service.
• Provide professional service to military personnel in dining and retail areas.
• Maintain hygiene by sanitising workstations and dining areas.
• Assist with events and work closely with the team to complete tasks.

Job Description:

As a Front of House Steward with Sodexo at Colchester MOD, Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, Essex, CO2 7UT

You’ll play an important role in supporting military personnel on a Ministry of Defence (MOD) base. Your day-to-day interactions will directly impact the experience of those serving, ensuring they have a positive and efficient dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dining Area Setup:Prepare dining areas, functions, and meeting spaces before service to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Food Service & Replenishment:Serve meals and replenish food stations as needed, ensuring everything is available and properly maintained throughout service.
• Customer Interaction:Provide professional and courteous service to military personnel in dining, retail, and other areas.
• Cleaning & Hygiene:Maintain cleanliness and hygiene by regularly sanitizing workstations, equipment, and dining areas in line with health and safety standards.
• Event Support:Assist with special events and functions, ensuring all aspects of service run smoothly and efficiently.
• Teamwork:Work closely with your team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.

What You’ll Need:

• Professionalism and Respect:A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and respect for others in all interactions.
• No Experience Required:Previous hospitality or food service experience is helpful but not required. A willingness to learn and adapt is key.
• Reliability & Flexibility:Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
