A healthcare provider in Gateshead is seeking a full-time Waiting List Co-Ordinator to maintain elective surgery waiting lists across all specialties. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, NHS experience is preferred, and familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous. This role requires working flexible hours within a dedicated team to ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Waiting List Co-Ordinator to join our established team at Gateshead maintaining the elective waiting lists across all specialities.
The successful candidate will need excellent organisational/communication skills including an outstanding telephone manner as well as excellent keyboard skills, be competent in Microsoft packages/be able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality. Medical terminology would be advantageous.
Ideal candidates will have previous NHS experience in a secretarial/admin role and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how to manage any challenge this role can bring.
The post holder will manage and prioritise their own workload on a daily basis and use their initiative and discretion to manage competing priorities. The ability to work well under pressure is essential.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate for the post will work Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, although you will need to be flexible to the needs of the service and be committed to high quality patient care. You will be based at the QEH site - although may be required to occasionally work from home.

Working alongside an existing team of six other team members within the Waiting List Team within the Surgical Business Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital
