Theo is 12 years old, and his sister Iris is nearly 10. The children are full of energy, inquisitive, keen to learn, and very active. Theo enjoys tennis, table tennis, cycling, hockey, football, and long countryside walks; quieter times include cards, board games and chess. Iris loves reading, arts and crafts, cats, and plays tennis, netball and hockey; she also likes cycling and nature. Both children love music; Theo plays the guitar and Iris the piano. Both are neurodivergent, each diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Condition, and Iris presents with some ADHD traits. Theo is in a top academic secondary school with some SaLT and OT support, and Iris is in a mainstream primary school with some SaLT support. The main needs for both children are social communication, self-regulation and self-advocacy. The family require an SEN Nanny / Manny with autism experience and energy to support the children after school and during school holidays.
This role is a true team effort, involving both sole charge and shared care with the children's mum. For Iris, duties include school pickups, accompanying her to activities, assisting with homework and 11+ prep, and organising playdates. For both Iris and Theo, you'll support self-regulation, social communication, and self-advocacy while providing engaging, developmental play and outings. The days offer a great mix of education, stimulation, and fun. Responsibilities also include food prep and maintaining strong communication with schools and SEN professionals. Initiative and flexibility are key to keeping family life running smoothly.
A proactive, lively, creative, full of energy, sociable SEN Nanny / Manny who is genuinely eager to support and see children develop and flourish. Someone who wants to stretch themselves and keep learning and will enjoy working in collaboration with the family, school and professionals. The SEN Nanny / Manny will be reliable, organised, flexible, communicate well with the family, and use their own initiative, ideas and strategies. They will also enjoy being active and outdoors. It is essential that you are a non-smoker/vaper.
