Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking an experienced Operational Cyber Vulnerability Researcher to join a highly skilled team in Manchester. This role focuses on cutting-edge vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, and exploiting techniques in diverse platforms.

You will develop bespoke tooling, analyse threats, and collaborate with cyber specialists to stay ahead of emerging vulnerabilities. Onsite work with up to £75,000 salary plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in high assurance development, vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development.
• Hands-on cyber security researcher with a passion for researching complex technical problems.
• Experience with industry-standard tooling such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, debuggers, emulators, and analysis frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of low-level programming concepts and languages (C, C++, Assembly, Rust).
• Solid understanding of operating system internals, network protocols, and application security.
• Experience identifying, analysing, and exploiting vulnerabilities across modern platforms.
• Ability to work independently on complex research challenges while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Conducting advanced vulnerability research across platforms, OS, and technologies.
• Performing detailed reverse engineering of software, firmware, and embedded systems.
• Researching and analysing complex threats, exploits, and attack techniques.
• Developing proof-of-concept exploits and supporting exploitation activities.
• Creating bespoke tooling to support research and operational objectives.
• Collaborating with other cyber specialists to solve technically demanding challenges.
• Staying at the forefront of emerging vulnerabilities and security research.
