What you will do:
  • Team Leadership: Build, manage, and develop a team of new business sales professionals across Northern Europe. Set clear targets, monitor performance, and foster a culture of high achievement and collaboration.
  • Market Strategy: Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for new business growth, identifying key verticals, target accounts, and partnership opportunities.
  • Sales Execution: Personally lead on major deals and support the team in complex negotiations. Ensure robust pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and achievement of ambitious growth targets.
  • Partnerships: Identify and support strategic partnerships (e.g., with payment processors, technology vendors, and industry associations) to accelerate market entry and enhance Planet’s value proposition.
  • Product & Innovation: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure Planet’s solutions meet evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements in the region.
  • Performance Management: Use Salesforce and other tools to monitor team activity, pipeline health, and individual performance. Lead regular reviews and provide coaching and support for continuous improvement.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of payment industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in Northern Europe. Provide insights to inform Planet’s product and commercial strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Planet Payments at industry events, conferences, and with key clients and partners.
Who you are:
  • Proven track record in new business sales leadership within the payments, fintech, or financial services sector.
  • Deep understanding of the Northern European payments landscape, including regulatory environment and key market players.
  • Strong network of contacts across retail, hospitality verticals in the region.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for pipeline and performance management.
  • Willingness to travel across the region as required.
