Job summary

BNY in Manchester, UK, is seeking a Vice President, Full‑Stack Engineer for an on‑site, full‑time role. You will lead the design and delivery of scalable microservices, spanning Java Spring Boot back‑end and Angular front‑end systems.

Collaborating with product owners, analysts, and developers, you will implement robust RESTful APIs, ensure testable code, and drive CI/CD and Agile practices in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Core Java and object‑oriented programming.
• Proficiency in front‑end technologies: Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience developing and deploying microservices architectures with Spring Boot (or Spring Batch, Spring Data, or similar).
• Knowledge of JIRA, JUnit, and Apache Kafka is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB and MongoDB.
• In‑depth knowledge of REST API principles and the HTTP protocol.
• Familiarity with containerization tools and cloud platforms.
• Solid grasp of Git, CI/CD practices, and Agile principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, front‑end and back‑end developers.
• Design, develop, and implement microservices using Java Spring Boot, ensuring modular, testable, and reusable code.
• Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Java.
• Ensure seamless integration and communication between front‑end and back‑end components.
• Use NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB to design, develop, and optimize data models for distributed storage.
• Create RESTful APIs (including gRPC) to enable smooth communication between microservices and external systems.
• Conduct regular code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration to maintain high code quality and reliability.
