Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Operational Risk VP – Digital Assets in Glasgow to provide independent review and challenge of the bank's risk frameworks and to support new products and evolving risk profiles within a global initiative.

You will partner with Risk, Markets, Corporate functions and Group Strategy, lead stakeholder engagement, oversee 2nd line activities, and help advance payments risk and digital asset programmes while modeling Barclays' values.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk, risk management, controls, or related second line of defense functions.
• Risk and controls mindset with the ability to independently assess and challenge operational risk frameworks.
• Experience supporting innovative businesses, digital assets, payments risk, fintech, or emerging technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent review and challenge of operational risk frameworks across risk categories.
• Identify and monitor horizon, interconnected, and emerging risks to inform business risk posture.
• Analyze operational risk data to identify trends and potential issues.
• Assess processes, systems and controls to gauge risk likelihood and impact.
• Oversee 1st Line activities including RCSAs, Risk Events, and Issues with governance reporting.
• Engage First and Second Line management to strengthen risk controls.
• Contribute risk-based input into projects, initiatives, and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Markets, and Group Functions.
