Job description

Scotland’s animation gathering brings together creatives from film, television, advertising and games to celebrate the joy of making things move – and we’re looking for your help! Returning to the historic Pleasance Courtyard and a select few other venues in Edinburgh, we have 4 days of inspiring talks, workshops, screenings, recruitment, tech demos, networking and business development all focussed around the latest and greatest in the international animation and VFX industries.

MOVE Summit is made possible due to a committed and friendly group of volunteers and we’re currently looking for this year’s excellent individuals to join the team and ensure the smooth running of the event.

Volunteer roles & duties can include:
  • welcoming and registering speakers and guests
  • guiding guests and speakers to the relevant rooms and activities
  • live social media posts & tweets
    ushering
  • supporting coordinators with delivery of specific programme strands such as creative reviews, business 1:1s, exhibition, tech demos etc.
  • assisting with the catered lunches and dinners
  • providing programme information to guests and attendees
  • acting as evening guides for the social / networking events

As our volunteers positions are unpaid we can offer you:

  • up to £40 per event day towards travel costs (with valid receipt)
  • access to the programme where possible.
  • As this is a working role the focus is on delivering a successful event and being committed to that, however with workload and availability permitting (and at the discretion of the volunteer coordinator) there may be chance to see some of the talks programme, although unfortunately at this stage this isn’t guaranteed
  • access to the MOVE Late social / networking events (again, if not needed to act as staff for these events)
  • a chance to meet and work alongside some of the industry’s greatest professionals from home and overseas!

Please note you must be over 18 years of age and eligible to volunteer in the UK.

Applicants will be informed of their outcome by Friday 31st January, 2025. Please note that when inputting your availability, you may or may not be selected to work any / all of your chosen shifts.
