A healthcare charity in Harlow is seeking a Trustee for its Governing Board. This is an opportunity to play a key role in improving NHS Primary Healthcare. The position invites individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those with experience in health, finance, or legal sectors. Who are we?
We have a unique role supporting NHS Primary Healthcare in West Essex and East Hertfordshire. We are a registered Health charity owning Health centres in Harlow providing space for GP Surgeries, Primary Care Networks, Hospital outpatient Clinics, Urgent and Out of Hours providers, Pharmacies and Dental services. We currently have 6 Health Centres and these are run under a charitable trust to allow us to be a highly cost effective partner with Hertfordshire and West Essex NHS Integrated Care Board, NHS England, NHS Property Services, Princess Alexandra Hospital and other local Hospital Trusts, Community Trusts and Primary Care providers. As a charity we also award grants and donations to other charities to provide innovative solutions to improve Health and Wellbeing initiatives in the Community.
What are we looking for?
We are recruiting a Trustee for our Governing Board. Whether you are an experienced Trustee, board member or looking to take your first step into a charitable governance role, we would like to hear from you. Our Trustees drive our strategic development. They bring a range of perspectives, experience, skills and lived experience to respond to the ever more demanding provision of Primary Community Healthcare within the NHS. We need talented and enthusiastic people to complement our existing Trustees. You may have an NHS or a Health or Social work background, you may have local networks and charitable connections, or you may have specific financial, legal, building construction, marketing, or PR skills.
Whatever your background, we are looking for Trustees to believe in our charitable purpose and the ever-changing provision of NHS Primary Healthcare. All applicants must be eligible to act as a charity trustee in England and Wales.
You should be able to commit to up to 6 Board Meetings per year as well as one Strategy Day and some ad hoc events. Meetings are held in the Trust’s Offices in Latton Bush, Harlow, Essex or on occasion via Teams. In addition, Trustees will join at least one Board subcommittee (Grants, Finance and Audit, Estates) and represent the Trust in partnership meetings with our stakeholders.
