Job summary

A charity organization in Sunderland is looking for compassionate volunteers to join their Mental Health Helpline. You will provide emotional support and guidance to callers, receive comprehensive training, and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team. No prior experience is necessary. A commitment to complete an Enhanced DBS check is required. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.

About the Role

We are looking for volunteers to join our Mental Health Helpline, providing compassionate listening, crisis de‑escalation, and sign‑posting to callers. The helpline operates 24/7, but will work around your availability and capacity. As a volunteer you will be supported at all times by Telephone Support Workers and Shift Supervisors.

Job Responsibilities
