Job summary

A local charity in Liverpool is seeking a Volunteer to help individuals make positive changes in their lives. As an IPS Volunteer, you will support individuals in achieving their IPS goals by facilitating drop-ins and providing valuable job information. This rewarding position includes comprehensive training to enhance your skills and make a significant impact in the community. Suitable candidates must be 18+ and will undergo a DBS check.

Overview

We are a free and confidential service for adults (18+) in Liverpool who are experiencing difficulties with substances.

We believe everyone has the ability to make positive changes. We work with individuals, families, carers, and professionals to offer support that’s right for you.

Whether you need one-to-one help, group sessions, or access to medication and treatment, we're here for you.

Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us bring our vision to life and deliver our services effectively. Their dedication strengthens the quality, reach, and accessibility of our support, allowing us to help even more people.

Responsibilities

At River you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential. As an (IPS) Volunteer, you will be working alongside the IPS team. You will be supporting individuals to achieve their IPS goals, this can include facilitating drop-ins, providing job information and advice. Increasing individuals’ skills and confidence to achieve sustainable work. You will receive comprehensive training and guidance to develop within the role. This is a rewarding position where you can make a real difference in the lives of others.

  • Interviews: Will take place towards the last two weeks of February2026
  • Training: Will start on the third week of March (1 day per week for – 6 weeks).
