Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers and front of house for the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival, ensuring a great experience for audiences and volunteers alike.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
General
- To work with the Senior Producer to recruit and plan a Front of House and Volunteer team for the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival, including the Family Day at the National Museum of Scotland.
- To produce and implement a team-building and training programme for Volunteers and Front of House.
- To coordinate and support the Front of House and Volunteer team throughout the festival period.
- To update Imaginate’s database of Volunteers and Front of House.
- To create a Volunteer and Front of House schedule across the Festival with the Senior Producer.
- To work within the allocated Front of House and Volunteer budget.
- To assist the Festival team as required in the run‑up to the Festival.
- To assist the Senior Producer in managing the setup of the box office at Festival venues.
- To assist Front of House with box office and audience queries and issues when required.
- To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to within the Volunteers and Front of House teams.
Volunteers
- To recruit and support Volunteers to satisfy the needs of the Festival.
- To work with the Senior Producer and Festival team to develop the Volunteer programme to meet the requirements of the Festival.
- To coordinate Volunteers for various activities at Festival venues, including performances and all Festival delegate events.
- To widen the reach and diversity of Volunteers and update Imaginate’s database.
- To evaluate and report on the Volunteer programme (including financial report) in association with the Head of Marketing.
Front of House
- To assist the Senior Producer in managing the setup of the box office at Festival venues.
- To assist Front of House with box office and audience queries and issues when required.
Fee: £4,500 (Including Holiday Pay)
Dates: 30 days max between Jan – Jun 2026 (Flexible working, equivalent to approx. 2-3 days a week) and 6 days during the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival (30 May – 7 June)
