Role Overview
The Community Engagement Lead (Wrexham) is responsible for building strong relationships with local partners, coordinating community projects, managing use of the community café space, and supporting volunteers. The role ensures effective administration of volunteer applications, expenses, and risk assessments while promoting the café as a hub for wellbeing, learning, and social connection.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, groups, and service providers.
- Coordinate use of the community café space by external partners (e.g. Andy’s Man Club, Beacon Counselling, Adult Learning Wales).
- Act as the main point of contact for external facilitators and ensure they have what they need for sessions.
- Promote the space as a hub for community connection, learning, and wellbeing.
- Identify opportunities to expand community programmes and partnerships in line with organisational goals.
- Community Projects Coordination
- Plan and deliver community projects that promote inclusion, connection, and personal development.
- Support partners and facilitators to deliver sessions effectively within the café space or wider community.
- Collect feedback from participants and partners to inform future development.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to share learning and strengthen impact.
- Volunteer Support & Coordination
- Support volunteers involved in community projects and events.
- Lead volunteer introduction sessions to ensure new volunteers feel welcomed and informed.
- Maintain regular communication with volunteers to monitor engagement, wellbeing, and development.
- Record and report volunteer hours accurately each week.
- Process and track volunteer applications, ensuring documentation and checks are completed.
- Manage and submit volunteer expense claims in line with organisational policy.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed for volunteer activities.
- Report volunteer data, applications, risk assessments, and expenses to the Volunteer Administrator on a weekly basis.
- Administration & Reporting
- Keep accurate records of community group usage, including bookings, attendance, and activities.
- Track and report data on community engagement and volunteer involvement for management reports.
- Ensure all relevant safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment requirements are in place for activities.
- Contribute to reports and case studies that highlight the impact of community projects.

- Confident communicator – verbal, written, and digital.
- Experience coordinating volunteers or community projects.
- Experience supervising or line managing others.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire.
- Aligned with the mission and values of Rebuild with Hope.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the organisation.
Desirable
- Understanding of volunteer management, safeguarding, and GDPR principles.
- No formal qualifications required, but experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or people management is essential.
