Personal Assistant (Home)

I am a friendly lady living in the area of Wenvoe. I have M.E and am therefore looking to employ a Personal Assistant to assist me at home with day to day tasks enabling me to remain independent. My condition fluctuates a lot - sometimes I am bedridden, at other times I can move around slowly but spend a lot of time resting. I am housebound the majority of the time. Sometimes I barely have the energy to talk or it is painful to speak due to severe sore throats, and I also suffer from hemiplegic migraines.

I am looking for someone who understands and appreciates this and can be patient with my fluctuating needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with household chores, cleaning and keeping the household running smoothly to help maintain independence.
  • Personal care (when required).
  • Assisting with preparing healthy meals, organising meal plans, cooking fresh meals.
  • General cleaning after kitchen use.
  • Domestic tasks such as ironing, laundry, cleaning, cooking.
  • Shopping with or without me for the weekly meal plan.
  • Accompanying me socially and to appointments.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as and when required.
Conditions & Compensation
  • Part‑time but a proper job requiring a National Insurance number.
  • Trial period.
  • Wage paid on a 4‑weekly basis with appropriate holiday pay.
  • Subject to satisfactory references, DBS (Police) and right‑to‑work checks; costs insured by the employer (Local Authority).
