Overview

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check – which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Take the client out and about and assist with activities as described below.
  • Support the client with personal interests such as swimming, bowling, tennis and occasionally beach activities like looking for crabs.
  • Be strong and disciplined, outgoing and friendly, and encourage the client to build confidence.
  • Have an understanding or experience with learning difficulties.
Qualifications and Qualities
  • Experience or understanding of learning difficulties is preferred.
  • Ability to support the client in activities and outings in a safe and supportive manner.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to provide satisfactory references.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS (Police) Check as required by the employer.
