Location: Camborne, Cornwall
Pay: £21 per hour

Working Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract Duration: 1 November 2025 – 23 January 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Visual Rehabilitation Specialist to join our Sensory Support Team in West Cornwall. This is a temporary, part‑time role based in Camborne, providing essential rehabilitation support to visually impaired residents across the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver visual rehabilitation programmes tailored to the needs of individuals with visual impairments.
  • Provide whitecane mobility training, daily living skills training, and other techniques to promote independence.
  • Work collaboratively with service users to set personalised goals.
  • Offer informal support and guidance to an Apprentice Visual Rehabilitation Specialist.
  • Maintain detailed case records and reports.
Essential Requirements
  • RWPN Registration – must hold a recognised qualification in visual impairment rehabilitation, such as a Degree or Diploma in Rehabilitation Work for the Visually Impaired (or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of visual impairments and sensory loss issues.
  • Experience in delivering one-to-one training and rehabilitation in home and community settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Other Requirements
  • Access to a car, ability to drive a pool vehicle, or alternative suitable transport for home visits in the community.
  • Professional appearance: smart casual dress code required.
