Job description
Job title: Visual Merchandiser

Department: Retail

Reports to: Store Design & VM Manager

Role Purpose

As a Visual Merchandiser, you’ll help to bring the Lucy & Yak brand to life across our stores. You'll create inspiring displays that drive sales, tell our brand story, celebrate our community, and make every visit to our stores an inspiring experience. You’ll ensure each store is held to the same VM standards and is following the latest VM directive. You'll report directly to the Store design & VM manager, and work closely with the Retail, Product and Brand & Creative teams to make sure every store reflects who we are.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working together with the Store design & VM manager to create Retail VM guidelines, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining these guidelines and standards for all Lucy & Yak stores.
  • Work with the Retail teams to train, guide and support VM execution.
  • Visit stores regularly (2-3 days per week) to ensure VM standards are met and displays are fresh, relevant and on brand.
  • Use sales and product performance data to inform and adjust visual layouts and priorities.
  • Alongside the Store design & VM manager, plan and style windows to maximise the front of our stores, you’ll be responsible for rolling out the final designs in stores.
  • Utilising the mock‑up space in Brighton, produce weekly VM directive to ensure clothing displays and mannequins align with product launches and seasonal themes.
  • Be the main point of contact for store VM queries.
  • Support the Store design & VM manager with new store openings, refits, and events where required.
  • Work closely with the Store design & VM manager, Product and Retail teams to plan in store product launches, events and campaigns effectively.
  • Help to deliver POS to stores effectively and on time for all new launches, developing ideas with the Creative team where required.
  • Support the Store design & VM manager with sourcing of relevant props/sundries required for stores.
Key Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a visual merchandising role in fashion retail, working across multiple stores.
  • Proven experience in creating and rolling out clear, inspiring VM guidelines.
  • A keenness to travel regularly across the UK is a must.
  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • A creative eye for design, layout, and storytelling through displays.
  • A strong sense of style that feels authentic, inclusive, and brand‑relevant.
  • A real passion for sustainability, individuality, creativity, and community, balanced with commerciality.
