FirstPort Limited in Bedford is seeking a Visiting Development Manager to oversee a residential development, ensuring safety, resident engagement and smooth operations. The role requires a strong customer service ethos, staff coordination, and liaison with local authorities.

Qualifications

• Customer service - passion for exceptional service, ideally face-to-face.
• Communication - natural communicator, able to resolve issues and complaints effectively.
• Health & Safety - understands importance of health & safety, experience with emergencies.
• IT - proficient with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.
• Administration - organised, methodical, with accurate record-keeping.
• Personal - outgoing, able to build professional relationships and be proactive.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development/office and check residents per requirements.
• Conduct daily safety checks, maintain records, protect data, and keep communal areas clean.
• Manage works: raise orders, supervise contractors, monitor progress, sign off completion.
• Encourage Residents Association; collaborate to enhance resident experience and support a Social Committee.
• Build links with residents' families and local authorities as needed.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team.
• Assist with sales alongside Retirement Homesearch; welcome new residents.
• Work with local Development Managers and attend team/company meetings.

Job Role:Visiting Development Manager (Ref 26760)

Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire

Salary: £24,479.00 per annum, plus benefits

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (35 hours per week)

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office,ensure our residents are checked within our requirements.
• Carry out daily checks ensuring the building is safe and secure, Maintain records in line with internal procedures, ensure all data is protected and kept secure at all times. K eeping all communal areas, gardens and grounds clean and maintained through effective management of contractors.
• Be responsible for all works being completed, raising orders, managing contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association, and work with them to enhance the customer experience for residents, Helping build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.
• Build and maintain links with resident’s family members, local authorities; Doctors, Social Workers, Health Authority etc as required and appropriate.
• In the event of an emergency, call the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with our partner company Retirement Homesearch , make new residents feel welcome and help them settle in; where possible being present to welcome them.
• Work across your local peer team of Development Managers for advice and day to day support and travel to team / company meetings on a monthly / annual basis

About you

• Customer service- a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.
• Communication- a natural communicator, with the ability to resolve issues and complaints effectively
• Health & Safety- an understanding of the importance of health & safety, experience of dealing with challenging or emergency situations
• IT- able to operate Microsoft Office applications, and confident in learning new systems
• Administration- organised, methodical and experience of keeping accurate records
• Personal- an outgoing personality, with the ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers, self-motivated, pro-active, team oriented, and innovative.
