Job summary

Curious Arts seeks a dynamic, inclusive and visionary leader to serve as Creative Director & Chief Executive. This senior role guides strategic direction, programme development and engagement across LGBTQIA+ arts, with offices in the North East and hybrid working options.

The role requires a track record in leadership of a charity, project management, income generation and strong stakeholder relations to advance the organisation’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in arts, cultural, or nonprofit sector.
• Experience with strategic and business planning at a senior level.
• Exceptional organisational and project management skills.
• Experience securing new income streams for growth.
• Ability to inspire, develop and motivate staff; collaborate with a Board of Trustees.
• Strong communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Budget management and fundraising strategy knowledge.
• Understanding of HR management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to set strategic vision and long-term goals for Curious Arts.
• Lead the Senior Leadership Team to foster inclusive, innovative, and impactful programs and projects.
• Ensure alignment of activities with diverse community cultural aspirations and wider sector initiatives.
• Monitor external risks and implement changes to mitigate impacts on the charity.
• Establish systems to monitor, evaluate and report on impact against business objectives.
