Job summary

Hambi Media in Manchester is seeking a hands-on Videographer to shoot across studio and location projects, using Sony FX3 and similar cameras. You’ll own on-set audio and help realise the Director’s vision with lighting and framing.

You’ll plan shot lists, deliver clean, well-organised footage for post, and engage in pre-production discussions on lighting and kit. A showreel is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years videography experience, ideally in agency/commercial work.
• Hands-on experience creating social content and short-form formats.
• Confidence with cinema cameras (FX3/FX6 or similar) and professional lighting.
• Able to plan shot lists and prep for shoots from first scene.
• Strong eye for framing, composition and lighting.

Job description

No two days are the same. In the morning you might shoot a UGC concept on a phone, and in the afternoon a high-production advert on an FX3. You'll work closely with our Directors and Producers across studio and location shoots, covering UGC, VSLs, podcasts, testimonials, branded content, B-roll and product. What you'll be doing

• Operating Sony FX3 (or similar) cameras and professional lighting across studio and location shoots
• Owning audio on set: mic placement, monitoring levels and flagging issues as they happen
• Bringing the Director's vision to life, and adding your own eye for framing, composition and lighting
• Planning a shot list before every shoot so you're ready from the first scene
• Leaving every shoot with clean, well-organised, properly named footage ready for post
• Supporting pre-production conversations on lighting, kit and location setup
• Keeping up with Meta and TikTok trends and bringing fresh references to set, Within your first 90 days, you'll have shot across a range of formats, built strong relationships with the team, and have your footage running live in client ad accounts. You'll also be using performance data to sharpen your eye.

The process

• 45-minute first interview with the team
• Join us on a real shoot for a short creative task, followed by a final interview on-site (around 2 hours in total, and we'll brief you in advance We care about attitude as much as ability.)
• At least 2 years' videography experience, ideally in an agency, commercial or advertising setting. We're open to a wide range of experience levels, from early-career shooters with the right skills and drive to seasoned pros.
• Hands-on experience creating social content. Understanding short-form formats, hooks and pacing is a must.
• Confidence with cinema cameras (FX3/FX6 or similar) and professional lighting
• A team-first, can-do mindset: calm under pressure, reliable, happy to muck in and adapt quickly
• A real hunger to learn and grow. There's genuine progression here if you want it.
• Based in or within easy reach of Greater Manchester. You'll be in the studio 2-3 days a week, and sometimes at short notice for pickups.
• A showreel, portfolio or website featuring commercial, branded or social work. You won't be considered without one.

Bonus points for

• Experience shooting for D2C brands or paid social campaigns
• Familiarity with performance metrics like hook rate, watch time and CTR
