Job description

At McLaren, our mission is to set the standard for high performance in sport. And everyone, in every part of the team, has a role to play. So if you want to test your ideas with the world watching... And measure your progress in milliseconds... And play your part in racing history... You belong here. High performance starts with you.

Role Purpose

McLaren Racing is seeking a talented Videographer, with strong photography skills, to create world-class, digital-first content across our global platforms, supporting our presence in Formula 1 and other racing series.

This role will play a key part in bringing McLaren’s stories to life — from racing and innovation to culture and fan communities — through compelling, platform-native video content. With a strong focus on race weekends and digital-first storytelling, particularly through vertical video, you will help shape how millions of fans engage with McLaren around the world.

Working closely with Brand, Partnerships, Creative, and the Race Team, you will produce high-quality video and photographic content across social media, web, app, CRM, and broadcast-style formats. Combining creative instinct with audience insight, you will deliver engaging, culturally relevant content that performs across platforms and remains true to the McLaren brand.

This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on producer who thrives in fast‑paced, high-performance environments, enjoys regular international travel with an expectation of travelling to most Grand Prix races, and is excited by the opportunity to work within a live sporting environment at the highest level.

What You’ll Do
  • Create engaging, high‑performing video content across multiple platforms, with a strong focus on vertical and digital‑first formats.
  • Capture and produce content around race weekends, while supporting wider team activity, partner campaigns, and key brand moments throughout the season.
  • Deliver high‑quality still photography that will sit across owned and operated channels.
  • Translate stories focused on racing, technology and innovation, and culture/community into compelling content for global audiences.
  • Produce content that drives audience engagement, reach, and platform performance.
  • Support the creation of commercially effective branded content for partners and sponsors.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver content efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Edit video and photographic content in a timely and effective manner.
  • Operate effectively in fast‑turnaround environments, balancing creativity with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Creative & Editorial
  • Strong storytelling instincts and excellent editorial judgement.
  • Proven experience creating engaging content for digital and social platforms, particularly vertical video formats including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, but with an interest in also supporting mid‑form content.
  • Experience producing content for owned digital platforms, including web and app environments.
  • Strong scriptwriting and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences.
  • Experience working within live sport, entertainment, or fast‑paced content environments.
Production & Technical
  • Strong understanding of all stages of production, from planning and shoot execution through to delivery.
  • Excellent self‑shooting capability, including camera operation, lighting, sound recording, photography, and gimbal operation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or motion graphics workflows is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative standards.
Commercial & Strategic
  • Experience creating branded content that delivers value for commercial partners.
  • Strong understanding of platform analytics and audience insight, with the ability to optimise creative performance using data.
  • Awareness of evolving content trends, fan behaviours, and digital storytelling formats.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Experience working with leading athletes, talent, or high‑profile individuals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with producers, editors, creatives, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑moving environment.
Desirable
  • Experience within motorsport, elite sport, or live event production.
  • Familiarity with fan engagement strategies, CRM platforms, and digital ecosystems.
  • Understanding of content rights, licensing, and partner deliverables.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work around international race calendars.
Personal Attributes
  • Creative, ideas‑driven, and culturally aware.
  • Thrives working under pressure with an ability to deliver high‑quality work at a quick turnaround.
  • Collaborative and confident working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fan‑first mindset with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Calm, adaptable, and solutions‑focused under pressure.
  • Curious and forward‑thinking, with a strong interest in emerging formats, platforms, and trends.
  • Passionate about sport, culture, entertainment, and innovation.
  • Enjoyment of global travel and operating in different environments.
