Job Description

You’ll transform our investigative findings into compelling visual stories that help people understand our work. As our first video producer, you’ll build the infrastructure and strategy for our multimedia presence.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end video production from conception to final export (including managing contracting for certain steps in the production process as needed)
  • Develop and execute an online-first multimedia strategy, building our audience and establishing a publishing cadence
  • Produce interview-style content with experts, whistleblowers, and stakeholders
  • Design graphics and animations to visualise corporate structures, policy changes, and research data
  • Generate social media video content optimised for various platforms
  • Manage production within budget constraints
Role Requirements
Desired qualifications
  • Familiarity with major AI companies, technology risks, policy debates, and safety issues
  • Experience creating compelling, information-dense video content that has generated significant reach as measured by views, subscribers, or other engagement metrics.
  • Proficiency across multiple stages of video production, including scripting, shooting, editing, and motion graphics
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex videos with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical expertise with editing software and motion graphics software
  • Experience with camera operation and audio capture
  • Understanding of platform-specific optimisation for social media, YouTube, and advertising platforms.
  • Experience with photo editing and visual media
  • Strong editorial judgment and visual storytelling abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Bonus qualifications
  • Background in documentary or explainer content
  • Skills in illustration or animation
  • Resourcefulness in managing production with limited budgets
