Job description

Video Formula is a startup video production company based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. We help businesses grow by creating video content that actually serves a purpose, content that can be repurposed across multiple platforms and used as part of a wider marketing strategy. We are building something exciting, and we are looking for a passionate entry-level Video Editor who wants to grow with the business.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves video, wants to understand how video drives business results, and is hungry to improve fast. Skill matters, but passion, energy, and a strong work ethic matter even more.

What's the Job?

You will support the team by:

  • Editing podcast and interview footage into short‑form clips for social media
  • Cutting long‑form videos into clean, well‑paced final edits
  • Adding captions, basic motion graphics, and on‑screen text (templates provided)
  • Organising footage, project files and exports in a tidy workflow
  • Following edit briefs and brand guidelines with attention to detail
  • Exporting content correctly for different platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Learning how content fits into a wider marketing and business strategy, not just “making it look nice”
Who's this job perfect for?

This role is for individuals with a strong passion for video and business.

You should be someone who:

  • Enjoys making content and wants to improve their own skills.
  • Cares about the outcome of the content, not just the edit itself.
  • Takes feedback well and wants to develop.
  • Has high standards, strong attention to detail, and pride in your work.
  • Wants to be part of a start‑up environment, where you will learn a lot and will be expected to take ownership.
What will I need?

It's an entry‑level position, so it means you do not need years of experience, but you should have:

  • Confidence using Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (Final Cut is fine too)
  • A good eye for pacing, storytelling, and clean edits
  • Basic understanding of audio levels and tidy visuals
  • Reliability and great timekeeping
  • A willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently when needed

On top of your salary, you will have access to a commission scheme for helping the business grow. This may include commission for:

  • Referring new clients who go on to sign with Video Formula
  • Supporting upsells or add‑ons on existing client work
  • Full details will be shared at the interview.
Hours and location
  • 16 hours per week
  • Monday and Tuesday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch (office‑based)
How to apply
  • Send your CV to dan@videoformula.co.uk (applicants who only apply through LinkedIn quick apply will not be considered)
  • Make sure to include a short note about who you are and why you want this role!
  • A link to 2 to 5 examples of your edits (portfolio, Google Drive, YouTube, Instagram, etc)
