News UK’s The Sun is recruiting a Video Apprentice to join our fast-paced digital storytelling team. You will support daily video editing and production across entertainment, news, and sports for platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

You will work four days a week with The Sun and one day studying toward a fully funded NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, with mentorship from top industry professionals to help you reach your potential.

Qualifications

• Creative flair for storytelling through video and digital media.
• Strong understanding of platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Clear communication and collaboration with producers, editors, journalists, talent, and social teams.

Responsibilities

• Edit clips using Adobe Premiere Pro to cut social clips and video formats.
• Research guests across music, social media, and pop culture and prepare background sheets.
• Pitch creative ideas in team brainstorms and contribute interview questions.
• Support on shoot days by setting up gear, finding props, and keeping filming on track.
• Spot viral moments to create episode summaries and social assets for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Assist with shoot logistics: travel, accommodations, catering, and crew needs.
• Handle team admin: meeting notes, guest releases, call sheets, and invoicing.
• Organise media files to keep footage tidy and easily accessible.
