Overview

Our European Private Credit team invests primarily in highly-structured and privately-negotiated capital solutions supporting corporate borrowers through secured loans, senior subordinated debt, mezzanine debt, convertible notes, and other debt-like instruments, as well as preferred and common equity in such borrowers.

The team consists of 18 investment professionals in London.

An opportunity to work with the European Private Credit team based in London. The role will involve identifying, analyzing and executing new investment opportunities throughout the UK and Continental Europe, as well as working in the execution of new investments in these regions. The ideal individual will be looking to join a high performing team whose work spans a broad mandate including Direct Lending, Private Credit and Hybrid Solutions.

The environment is fast-paced and demanding, with a strong emphasis on professional development. Candidates will work directly with senior investment professionals on the team and will be encouraged to be proactive and to take ownership of important projects, while at the same time coordinate junior resources to deliver the final outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage due diligence process: Support act as point of escalation for conduct primary research activities, execute key financial analyses and contribute to due diligence activities across all relevant areas (financial, commercial, technology, legal, tax, etc.)
  • Lead evaluation and deal execution: coordinate juniors and support senior investment professionals throughout the deal making process. Determine appropriate valuations, legal/ tax structures and capital structures; prepare memos and recommendations for investment committee; negotiate transaction agreements and financing documents, etc.
  • Mentorship of juniors: As a Vice President you will work with the Interns, Analysts and Associates on the team on a daily basis. In addition to checking the work and acting as a point of escalation for juniors, we expect all our Vice Presidents to positively contribute to the development of junior talent.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in Private Credit; 2 years' experience within Investment Banking and 2 years' experience within buyside Private Credit (Direct Lending, Opportunistic or Special Situations) is preferred
  • Fluent spoken and written communication in English.
  • Excellent on Excel, technical skills i.e. ability to build an LBO model and complex operating models
  • Excellent research and due diligence skills with an aptitude for numeracy
  • Willing to take initiatives and drive the project forward to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required as well as being and a team player
  • Self-starter; has confidence in asking questions and ability to work independently in a fast- paced environment and a willingness to learn
  • Solid organizational skills, high attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to manage and develop junior resources within the team
  • Eligible to work in the UK
