Role Overview

The Murex Development Team Lead supports MUFG’s EMEA Trading Platforms team by managing a small team of approximately five developers. The role focuses on day‑to‑day operations and the delivery of small enhancements to the Murex application used across multiple MUFG entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with business and technology stakeholders to agree priorities across business streams.
  • Assigning development resources to meet stakeholder demands.
  • Reviewing incoming development requests to ensure sufficient context and requirements are provided.
  • Tracking and communicating development progress and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Reporting on development progress through management information dashboards.
  • Ensuring the team is fully resourced and that resources are appropriate to the development role.
  • Promoting personal development of team resources and reviewing team procedures for growth and efficiencies.
  • Working with Murex BAU and Murex FO support teams to maintain a consistent and manageable delivery framework.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven track record in leading and managing a development team servicing FO, PRO OPS, FIN, and IDM across international regions.
  • High proficiency in derivative products booking methodologies, lifecycle events, and product features across rates, credit, equity, and FX derivatives.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Murex application.
  • Strong understanding of second‑line support teams and how the development team assists when required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of front‑to‑back operations supporting Sales & Trading, including market risk, credit risk, product control, and operations.
  • Excellent understanding of system interfaces (JMS, MQ, JSON, XML) and experience interfacing with electronic trading platforms and back‑office systems.
  • Operational knowledge of regulatory reporting obligations such as Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, MiFID, and Uncleared Margin.
Personal Requirements
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and evangelize change.
  • 5+ years of SME experience on the Murex platform, leading a distributed development team to deliver international platform initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, influential decision‑making, and consensus building.
  • Track record of developing and promoting talent through feedback and guidance.
  • Strategic approach to delivery, articulating and implementing vision/strategy.
  • Results‑driven, accountable, and able to operate well under pressure with urgency.
  • Effective conflict management and ability to de‑escalate disagreements.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
