Job summary

The Bank of New York Mellon in Manchester is seeking an AI-augmented Full-Stack Engineer to drive engineering 2.0 practices, embedding AI-augmented workflows across the team and delivering scalable, production-ready solutions on Azure/AWS.

You will integrate ML models, manage data pipelines, and lead real-time event streaming architectures while applying SOLID, CQRS and modern microservice patterns. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as an AI-augmented developer with tools like Windsurf, Claude Code, and MCPs to accelerate delivery
• Strong understanding of Engineering 2.0 using AI and intelligent automation across design, build, test and deploy
• Hands-on experience with machine learning concepts and integrating ML models into production pipelines
• Proficiency with Snowflake for data warehousing, analytics and scalable platforms
• Experience designing and building event streaming architectures using Kafka and Azure Event Hubs
• Solid knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud services including compute, storage, serverless and orchestration

Responsibilities

• Champion Engineering 2.0 practices by embedding AI-augmented development workflows to boost velocity, quality and innovation
• Leverage AI coding assistants and MCPs to accelerate delivery, automate repetitive tasks, and raise standards
• Design, build, and deploy intelligent, scalable solutions integrating ML models, event streams, and cloud services on Azure and AWS
• Architect and implement Snowflake-powered data platforms for analytics and reporting
• Build and maintain real-time event streaming architectures for high-throughput financial data
• Deliver robust full-stack solutions using .NET/C# and SQL with clean, maintainable code
• Lead technical workshops on AI-augmented development and modern cloud patterns
• Mentor team members in AI-driven engineering practices and foster continuous learning
• Collaborate with Architecture and Data Science to define ML deployment and data pipeline standards
• Conduct code reviews focusing on AI-assisted quality and overall team expertise
• Promote Agile mindsets and adaptive workflows across the team

Salary: £27,500 - 55,500 per year

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an AI-augmented developer, with proficiency in tools such as Windsurf, Claude Code, and Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to accelerate engineering delivery
• Strong understanding of Engineering 2.0 principles, using AI and intelligent automation to enhance how software is designed, built, tested, and deployed
• Hands-on experience with machine learning concepts and the ability to integrate ML models into production applications and data pipelines
• Proficiency with Snowflake for data warehousing, analytics, and building scalable data platforms
• Experience designing and building event streaming architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka and Azure Event Hubs
• Strong working knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, serverless, and container orchestration
• Solid experience with .NET/C# and SQL Server for building enterprise-grade applications and data access layers
• Expert knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architectural patterns such as microservices, event-driven, and CQRS
• Experience and knowledge in Agile delivery, ideally with Scrum experience
• Experience delivering high-volume, highly available enterprise applications in regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of TDD, Continuous Integration, and automation practices
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Ability to critically analyse designs and code, providing constructive and actionable feedback
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Mentor and uplift team members in adopting AI-driven engineering practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation
• Partner with Architecture and Data Science teams to define best practices for ML model deployment, data pipeline design, and cloud infrastructure standards
• Conduct thorough code reviews with a focus on AI-assisted quality, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality and team expertise
• Collaborate with the team and wider development community to cultivate Agile mindsets and practices, driving effective and adaptive workflows
