Vetting Researcher

Location: Tigers Place, Tigers Road, Leicester. Contract: 6-month contract with potential extension (37 hours per week). Pay Rate: £15.79 PAYE per hour. Start Date: ASAP.

About the Role:

Join our Vetting and Disclosure team as a Vetting Researcher. You will process sensitive information, cross-reference records, and provide advice and assistance to authorised members of the Force. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and validate requests from authorised agencies and update records on the Police National Computer system.
  • Provide offender history to authorised agencies in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Cross-reference correspondence with records and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain filing systems and office equipment as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to Force members on vetting matters.
Essential skills and experience:
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English Language or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in clerical/administrative roles requiring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; typing speed of 25 wpm.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle sensitive information.
  • Team player with proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Human Rights, and Computer Misuse legislation.
  • Experience using multiple databases simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Police National Computer and local police/court information systems.
