Job summary

Vets Now Bath is seeking a weekend Veterinary Surgeon to join our emergency and critical care team. You will contribute to high-quality patient care during weekend shifts on a rolling rota and support a busy ECC service.

The role offers opportunities to advance skills in emergency medicine, mentor less-experienced staff and benefit from mentorship, training and a strong team culture within our Bath site.

Qualifications

• Weekend veterinary surgeon with interest in emergency and critical care.
• Willing to work backshifts and weekends as per rota.
• Experience in ECC setting and varied caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekend ECC coverage as part of the Bath team.
• Manage a varied emergency caseload and support senior veterinarians.
• Collaborate with nurses and reception staff to ensure smooth shifts.
• Take part in training and development opportunities offered by the practice.

At Vets Now Bath the available weekend shifts include the below (on an 8-week rolling rota), plus a fair share of bank holidays:

• Week 1: Off
• Week 2: Sunday 1330 - 2000 (Backshift)
• Week 3: Friday 1900-0830 (Night shift)
• Week 4: Off
• Week 5: Off
• Week 6: Sunday 1330 - 2000 (Backshift)
• Week 7: Sunday 1330 - 2000 (Backshift)
• Week 8: Off

With the backshifts you will often work as the second Vet on shift, providing an opportunity to share knowledge and work together on the more complex cases.
