Royal Tunbridge Wells
Salary up to £75,000 pro rata, depending on experience | Full-time or part-time
Help shape the clinical direction of a small animal practice entering a new chapter. Under new management and following a recent rebrand, the practice is building a consistent, thriving service with a strong permanent veterinary team. For an experienced vet who wants a voice in how a practice develops, this is an opportunity to contribute ideas while progressing your own clinical interests.
You’ll work with a varied caseload, primarily treating cats and dogs, combining day-to-day consultations and surgery with opportunities to develop your approach to more advanced cases. Delivering thoughtful patient care, building trust with owners and working closely with nursing colleagues will be central to your role.
The practice is well equipped, with laparoscopy, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment and harmonic cautery available. Visiting specialists currently support orthopaedics, cardiology, diagnostic imaging and ophthalmology, and the practice’s vision is to continue expanding its in-house clinical offering and expertise.
An experienced GP vet already working towards a certificate, or interested in pursuing one, would be particularly welcome. There is scope to develop a clinical interest while helping shape how the practice manages its broader caseload and maintains continuity of care.
You’ll join a friendly, supportive and sociable team comprising two Registered Veterinary Nurses, three Student Veterinary Nurses and a Practice Manager. Collaboration and excellent patient and client care are central to how the team works.
As the permanent veterinary team develops, your experience and perspective will help establish consistent clinical approaches and contribute to the practice's continued growth. This role will suit someone who enjoys sharing knowledge, discussing cases and making practical improvements alongside colleagues.
The salary is up to £75,000 pro rata, depending on experience, with full-time and part-time hours available. The rota includes one in two Saturdays, from 9am to 5pm, with a weekday off in lieu.
Lunch-and-learn sessions support ongoing development, alongside opportunities to pursue further qualifications and develop your clinical interests. Regular team meals and social events offer time to connect outside the working day, and free parking is available.
On the Kent and Sussex borders, Royal Tunbridge Wells combines town amenities with easy access to countryside. The practice is in a retail park setting, with shops nearby and countryside and nature reserves within walking distance. London is approximately 40 minutes away by train, while Brighton is around an hour by car.
Outside work, there is plenty to explore, from the historic Pantiles and High Rocks to Ashdown Forest, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Chartwell.
