Job summary

PDSA Hull is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to join our supportive hospital as we move into a new purpose-built facility in Autumn 2027.

You'll hold clinical governance for the hospital, lead the Veterinary Surgeon team, deliver high-quality patient care, and develop colleagues within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

About you

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to join our experienced and supportive team at PDSA Hull.


This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a pivotal time as we prepare to move into a brand-new purpose-built hospital in Autumn 2027. We're seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, enjoys developing and supporting others, and is keen to play a key role in shaping the future of an already successful hospital.


You'll be joining a stable, highly engaged team with a wealth of experience and a strong culture of collaboration. As Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader, you'll hold clinical governance responsibility for the hospital and lead the Veterinary Surgeon team in delivering an efficient, professional and compassionate service to pets and owners within the local community.


This role will particularly suit a vet who enjoys a varied caseload and takes a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making. You'll be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and encouraged to share ideas, develop services and contribute to continuous improvement.


You'll lead and support our Veterinary Surgeon team, helping colleagues develop and thrive. We're looking for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, fostering a positive team culture and creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and able to perform at their best.


Work pattern & rota

We recognise the importance of work-life balance and have a rota designed to support it:



  • Full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

  • Core hospital hours are 8:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

  • 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (9:00am to 12:00 noon) on a rota basis.

  • No out-of-hours, evening or Sunday commitments.
