A leading veterinary practice in Blackburn is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This position offers flexibility in role definition (full-time or part-time) and emphasizes work-life balance, with a competitive salary and numerous benefits including annual leave, CPD funding, and private medical insurance.
Salary up to £65,000 DOE
Myerscough Veterinary Group is a large practice with branches across Lancashire. We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team. Situated 40 minutes from Manchester and Liverpool, and less than an hour away from the Lake District, with excellent rail links (London is just over two hours away by direct train).
Our main clinic is a PSS Inspected Tier 3 Hospital, with on-site CT Scanner, Laparoscopic Surgery, DR Radiography, Dental Radiography, endoscopic and bronchoscope equipment and extensive in-house laboratory equipment. Our team includes multiple certificate holders, covering surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedics), internal medicine, anaesthesia and analgesia, dentistry and dermatology. Certificates are encouraged and fully funded.
We are in the unique position where we can find a role to suit you, rather than you fitting into a role defined by us. Full time or part time, consulting only, or a more regular role involving consulting and surgical time. We are flexible in what we can offer and are willing to work with applicants to find what is best for them.
Work-life balance is very important to us; all our staff work to live, not the other way round. A full-time working week is 4 days, with a set day off per week and one in eight Saturday mornings. Consultations are 15 minutes as standard, with longer appointments for more complex cases, blood samples and euthanasia. There is protected admin time throughout the day to be able to do what is needed to help our clients, without putting additional time pressures on our vets. Out of hours provision is provided by Vets Now based out of our main hospital site in Clayton Le Dale, which means inpatient care is continuous without the need for patient transfers.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -
