Job summary

inspiring vet care in the United Kingdom is seeking a veterinary surgeon with medicine bias to join a supportive team across 8 Bristol sites. The role combines hospital-based consultations with afternoon sessions in branch practices, emphasizing ultrasound proficiency and clinical confidence.

You will work with a team of experienced clinicians, contribute to high standards of patient and client care, and develop your interests within a culture of collaboration and continued learning.

Qualifications

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register.
  • Experience in clinical practice with routine medical and surgical cases.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Predominantly a mix of consulting (1 day a week) and inpatient/ward shifts (3 days a week).
  • Inpatient/ward shifts involve looking after inpatients and investigations.
  • Seeing urgent/emergency appointments throughout the day.
  • Consult at hospital all day or travel to a nearby branch practice for 4pm consultations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic GP vet to join our team. We have a lovely welcoming team across 8 sites in Bristol, run by an experienced team of Clinical Directors and Vets, many of whom have been with the practice for more than a decade!

This role is based predominantly in our main hospital, but some afternoon consulting sessions (from 4pm-6.30pm) will be based in one of our branch practices.

We feel this role would suit an experienced veterinary surgeon with a medicine bias and confident skills in ultrasonography.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you'll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You'll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You'll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

  • Predominantly a mix of consulting ( 1 day a week) and inpatient/ward shifts (3 days a week).
  • Inpatient/ward shifts involve looking after our inpatients including any investigation required
  • Seeing any urgent/emergency appointments throughout the day
  • Consult at our hospital either all day or consult in the morning and travel to a nearby branch practice to consult from 4pm
Working Pattern
  • 38.7 hours per week
  • 8.30am-6.30pm (1hr unpaid lunch), 4 day week. Set 1 day off / week
  • 3 in 11 weekends: Fishponds 9am-4pm (1hr unpaid lunch), Zetland Road Hospital Inpatients/Emergencies 8.30am-5pm (1hr unpaid lunch), Zetland Road Hospital Consults 8.30am-5pm (1hr unpaid lunch)
