We want you to bring your ideas, interests and personality to the role, with the scope to grow your caseload and establish yourself within the local community. If you have particular clinical interests, we’ll support you in developing these further, including support towards certificates if that’s something you’d like to pursue.
You’ll see a lovely variety of cases, predominantly cats and dogs with some small furries, with a well-balanced mix of consultations and surgery. Surgical work is largely routine, with dedicated operating days, while a consult-only role can also be considered if that’s where you feel you’ll thrive. Protected admin time means you can keep on top of your notes without feeling rushed.
You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive team where kindness and teamwork matter. Although there is some sole-charge work, you’re never far from support, with our Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary teams working closely together alongside our sisten practice, New Street Vets. Our brilliant nurses are an integral part of the practice, supporting both consultations and surgery and helping everything run smoothly.
The practice is well equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, tonometry and a full IDEXX suite, giving you the tools and confidence to work up your cases. And when you need additional support or expertise, it’s readily available.
This is a 40-hour full-time role across four or five days, with just 1:4 Saturday mornings from 8:30am–1pm. There are no out-of-hours or on-call requirements. We’re also happy to consider part-time hours, school-time shifts or another flexible working pattern that works for you.
