Albert Cottage, Saltash, Cornwall, part of ivc, is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal on a part-time basis. The role offers a mixed caseload including routine procedures, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, with opportunities to follow patients through their treatment.

You’ll work a varied schedule with admin time for notes and case management, and there is scope to refer when extra expertise is required. The position is a 9-month fixed-term contract with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Confident Small Animal Vet with experience in a first opinion practice.
• Able to work up cases thoroughly and provide excellent patient care.
• Flexible about rosters including surgery and mixed caseload.

Albert Cottage, part of ivc, is a busy and friendly Small Animal GP practice. We’re looking for a confident Small Animal Vet who is comfortable across all areas of first opinion practice, enjoys working up cases properly and takes pride in providing great patient care.

Your days, your cases, your way

Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and some exotics, so there’s always something different coming through the door. We encourage thorough work-ups and, wherever possible, case continuity, giving you the opportunity to follow your patients through their treatment.

You’ll enjoy a mixed rota of consultations and surgery, with one dedicated surgery day each week as standard, although there’s scope for more if surgery is your passion. The caseload includes routine procedures, soft tissue surgery and dentistry, with the flexibility to accommodate a particular surgical bias.

You’ll also have dedicated admin time built into your working week, giving you the space to keep on top of clinical notes, follow-ups and case management. While we love keeping cases in-house where we can, you’ll always have the ability to refer when further expertise is needed.

A practice with plenty to offer

Albert Cottage is a converted house with a welcoming community feel and is proudly Silver ISFM accredited.

You’ll have access to digital and dental X-ray, an endoscope, scanning equipment and the usual facilities you’d expect from a well-equipped GP practice.

Find your work-life balance
This is a part-time role of 22 hours per week, across up to three days, with flexibility around weekday hours. Shifts can be worked across 8:45am–7:15pm, 8:45am–6:00pm or 8:45am–5:00pm, with 1:4 Saturdays, 9:00am–1:00pm, which will be sole charge.

This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, offering plenty of clinical variety and the opportunity to become part of a friendly practice team.
