Job summary

Vermuyden Vets, a trailblazing small animal practice in Goole, is offering a Veterinary Surgeon role with a salary up to £70,000, plus a Welcome Bonus up to £5,000 and Relocation Allowance up to £5,000. The practice provides modern facilities and access to a wider clinical network through Portland House Veterinary Group.

40 hours weekly across 4 or 5 days, with one Saturday morning per month and TOIL, no out-of-hours or on-call duties, and flexible working options to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS.
  • Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proactive approach to learning and development; reliable and professional.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of patient and client care across a varied caseload.
  • Continue to develop clinical skills and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the wider practice team to manage cases from consultation to treatment and follow-up.
  • Provide routine and emergency healthcare to small animal patients within a recently refurbished practice.

Our close-knit team currently consists of an experienced part-time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, supported by a fantastic group of Animal Care Assistants and Client Care colleagues. We're passionate about delivering exceptional care while creating a supportive and enjoyable working environment.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Working within our recently refurbished practice, you'll provide routine and emergency healthcare to small animal patients, building strong relationships with clients while managing cases through from consultation to treatment and follow-up.

Working Pattern
  • 40 hours per week across 4 or 5 days
