Work pattern and schedule

Work life balance that works for you

Our people are at the heart of what we do, and work-life balance is vital to support our people to be their best selves. We offer a flexible approach to rotas and working hours with 40 hours over 4 or 5 days per week, Saturday mornings shared on an equal rota, and flexible or part-time hours for the right candidate. No Out of Hours requirement.

Why join us?

We are located in Alexandria in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, with charming villages, fantastic countryside, hills and mountains, and Loch Lomond for watersports. We are 30 minutes from Glasgow city centre with great transport links. The area offers Victorian and art nouveau architecture, cultural venues, thriving arts and a range of dining and shopping options.

Our practice is well equipped with the latest veterinary tools including a dental machine and dental x-ray, digital radiology, Idexx biochemistry and haematology, ultrasound and laser. Our team currently consists of four experienced vets, three RVNs (two with certificates) who run their own clinics and nurse-led initiatives. We have a dedicated theatre, prep area, kennels, and three consult rooms.

We think of McKenzie Vets as "small but mighty"—small enough to be like a family but mighty enough to make a difference. We participate in charity events such as the Glasgow Kilt Walk and enjoy team activities like the Great McKenzie Bake Off and our annual Christmas Fuddle.
