Purosearch Ltd. Swindon is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (Primary Care) to join a multi‑disciplinary hospital with a strong surgical focus. You will work within state‑of‑the‑art facilities and a 13‑vet team to deliver routine care and advanced procedures.

The role offers a 40‑hour week over 4 days, 1‑in‑8 weekend rota, and minimal on‑call thanks to an on‑site ECC team. Competitive salary up to £65k DOE with funded CPD and relocation support.

Qualifications

• This role requires confidence in all aspects of general practice, including surgery and medicine.
• Ideally you hold or are working toward a Surgical Certificate.
• Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care and surgical services for small animals.
• Collaborate with a 13‑vet MDT across Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Surgery, ECC and Neurology.
• Participate in a 4‑day, 40‑hour week with an 1:8 weekend rota and minimal on‑call.

The role is primarily hospital‑based, with rotations through consulting‑only branches. The Role

• Weekend rota: 1 in 8 (with two lieu days the following week)
