Strathspey Vets is a well-established mixed practice, proudly serving the local community from our branches in Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey. We provide veterinary care for companion animals, farm clients and a wide range of local animal owners, with the variety and professional satisfaction that comes from true mixed practice.

We are looking for a vet who is happy to get stuck into all aspects of mixed practice, with a particular focus on farm work. The caseload will offer good variety, including farm animal work alongside small animal consultations, routine surgery and emergency care as part of the wider team.
Whether you are already experienced in farm work or looking to develop further in this area, we would be keen to hear from you.
This is more than just a veterinary role - it’s an opportunity to live and work in the Cairngorms National Park, one of the most beautiful and active outdoor regions in the UK.
In the summer, you can make the most of hill walking, trail running, mountain biking, paddleboarding, wild swimming, kayaking, climbing, golf, fishing, wildlife watching and long evenings exploring the Spey valley.
In winter, the Cairngorms offers a very different kind of magic, with skiing, snowboarding, winter walking, snow-covered forests, dark skies, cosy local cafés, and some of the best access to mountain landscapes anywhere in Scotland.
Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey offer a great balance of rural living, community spirit and access to outdoor adventure — ideal for someone who wants a fulfilling veterinary career without compromising on lifestyle.
You’ll be an MRCVS-registered veterinary surgeon who enjoys variety, values teamwork and understands the importance of building trusted relationships with clients. You’ll be practical, personable and motivated by doing a good job for animals, owners and the wider community.
A farm bias would be ideal, but just as important is the right attitude: someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, and keen to contribute to a supportive mixed practice team.
