We're a locally owned, friendly small animal practice in the vibrant seaside town of Poole, offering the perfect blend of rewarding clinical work and an excellent quality of life. We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This role would suit a confident all-round GP vet who enjoys a varied caseload, values clinical freedom, and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment.

About Us

Our well-equipped practice is home to a dedicated and experienced team, including:

• An Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine
• A vet with a certificate in Exotic Animal Practice
• Experienced RVNs, including team members actively carrying out Schedule 3 procedures
• A supportive nursing and client care team committed to delivering excellent patient care

We're also proud to be a Cat Friendly Clinic, creating a low-stress environment for our feline patients and their owners.

The practice features:

• Four consulting rooms
• Dedicated colleague room and kitchen area
• A welcoming, supportive team culture
• Strong focus on collaboration and clinical standards

The Role

You’ll enjoy:

• 20-minute consultations as standard
• 1 hour protected admin time each day
• 1 hour lunch break
• Overtime paid
• A varied caseload of medical and surgical cases
• Clinical freedom with support from experienced colleagues when needed

Rota

• Full or part-time hours
• 1 in 4 Saturdays (8.30am - 4.00pm)
• No out-of-hours

About You

We're looking for a veterinary surgeon with:

• Strong all-round GP skills
• Confidence with routine consultations and surgeries
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to high-quality patient and client care
