The Role
As a Veterinary Surgeon you will be accountable for the highest standards of patient care within the clinic, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of compassion and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:
Client Care
- Deliver exceptional service to clients every day
- Address client concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
- Provide regular updates on patient care, including out‑of‑hours or enhanced care cases
Patient Care
- Perform consultations, procedures, admissions and discharges
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
- Oversee clinical handovers and arrange OOH or enhanced care transfers
- Prescribe medications and conduct dispensing checks
Commercial Performance
- Prepare accurate treatment estimates and ensure timely payment
- Minimise debt and support action plans to resolve client issues
- Optimise clinic capacity through effective use of clinical skills
Clinical Administration
- Ensure laboratory tests are carried out correctly
- Escalate issues to the Practice Manager when required
Rota
- 4‑day week
- 1:6 full weekends
- No OOH
Candidate Profile
- RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Strong clinical leadership and teamwork skills
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding clinical care to both clients and patients
