Located in a popular coastal town in Sefton, Merseyside – famous for Antony Gormley’s Another Place sculptures – the area combines seaside charm with suburban convenience, offering beautiful beaches and parks ideal for families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Role

As a Veterinary Surgeon you will be accountable for the highest standards of patient care within the clinic, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of compassion and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:

Client Care
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients every day
  • Address client concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Provide regular updates on patient care, including out‑of‑hours or enhanced care cases
Patient Care
  • Perform consultations, procedures, admissions and discharges
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
  • Oversee clinical handovers and arrange OOH or enhanced care transfers
  • Prescribe medications and conduct dispensing checks
Commercial Performance
  • Prepare accurate treatment estimates and ensure timely payment
  • Minimise debt and support action plans to resolve client issues
  • Optimise clinic capacity through effective use of clinical skills
Clinical Administration
  • Ensure laboratory tests are carried out correctly
  • Escalate issues to the Practice Manager when required
Rota
  • 4‑day week
  • 1:6 full weekends
  • No OOH
Candidate Profile
  • RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong clinical leadership and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding clinical care to both clients and patients
