Job summary

Prospect Health is recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon for a well‑established small animal practice in Tamworth. You will provide high‑quality first‑opinion care, develop your surgical skills within a supportive, stable team, with a clear path toward Lead Veterinary Surgeon.

The role offers a four‑day week, 40 hours, with 1 in 3 Saturdays and no Sundays. Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience, plus certificate funding and CPD support, and a contributory pension.

Qualifications

  • BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK.
  • RCVS registration (or eligibility).
  • Experience within small animal practice.
  • Good medical and surgical skills with an interest in further surgical development.
  • Comfortable with occasional sole charge.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Proactive team player with a passion for delivering high clinical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality first‑opinion veterinary care
  • Manage a varied caseload of consultations, diagnostics and surgery
  • Develop surgical skills with regular operating opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with an experienced clinical and nursing team
  • Provide excellent client communication and continuity of care
  • Undertake occasional sole charge responsibilities where required
  • Contribute to the ongoing clinical development of the practice

Veterinary Surgeon

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well‑established small animal practice in the Tamworth area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet looking to develop their surgical skills within a supportive and stable team, with genuine opportunities for career progression into a Lead Veterinary Surgeon position.

Having recently undergone a significant refurbishment, the practice offers modern facilities, a varied caseload, and a loyal, growing client base. You'll be joining an experienced team, with several members having been with the practice for over 20 years, creating a welcoming and collaborative working environment.

  • Long‑standing, stable team with several members having over 20 years' service
  • Strong local reputation and growing client base
Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements
