Job description
Veterinary Surgeon

J482176 Shoreham-by-Sea South Coast £50K - £65K / Year

An established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice on the South Coast is looking for an enthusiastic Vet Surgeon to join their experienced team. The role will be split across two modern branch practices, with the support of a large, purpose-built hospital nearby for more complex cases and emergencies.

This independent-minded group has been serving pets in the region for over 40 years, with a strong reputation for clinical excellence and a friendly, collaborative working culture. Their team includes multiple certificate holders and colleagues with a wide range of clinical interests, making it an ideal environment for professional development. CPD is strongly encouraged and well-funded, with opportunities to pursue certificates and develop areas of special interest.

You’ll be working 4 days per week (8am–6pm) across both branches, with 1 in 4 Saturdays on rota (consults only, with support from the central hospital). Sole charge will be required at times, so confidence and experience in managing your own caseload is important. You’ll have the autonomy to work up cases, with the reassurance of being able to transfer emergencies or complex patients to the hospital team.

Benefits
  • Salary : £45,000 – £65,000 (DOE)
  • Weeks of annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • £1,750 CPD allowance per annum, with certificate support
  • Professional fees covered (RCVS, VDS, plus two memberships)
  • Health Shield cash plan (covering dental, optical, physio & more)
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Staff discounts on veterinary care
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee wellbeing support, annual pay reviews, and regular engagement initiatives
Location

Based in a stunning part of the South Coast, with easy access to the seaside, the South Downs National Park, and vibrant city life. London is just an hour away by train, and Gatwick Airport is close by, making it an excellent spot for both work and lifestyle.
